Bafta 2026 winners list out: Jessie Buckley wins for Hamnet while Robert Aramayo takes leading actor and rising star

The BAFTAs 2026 winners list has been announced, with One Battle After Another leading with six awards, followed by multiple wins for Sinners, I Swear and Frankenstein, alongside key acting, film and technical category results.

The winners of the BAFTA Film Awards 2026 have been announced, recognising the best films and performances from the past year. One Battle After Another emerged as the most awarded film of the night, securing six wins across major categories. It was followed by I Swear, Sinners and Frankenstein, which earned three awards each, while Hamnet took home two wins. The results reflect a wide spread of recognition across acting, film and technical categories.
In the top category, One Battle After Another won Best Film, ahead of Hamnet, Marty Supreme, Sentimental Value and Sinners.
Hamnet secured Outstanding British Film, with other nominees including 28 Years Later, The Ballad of Wallis Island, Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy, Die My Love, H Is For Hawk, I Swear, Mr Burton, Pillion and Steve. These categories highlighted the films that led the overall awards tally.
In acting categories, Jessie Buckley won Leading Actress for Hamnet, while Robert Aramayo won Leading Actor for I Swear. The supporting categories saw Wunmi Mosaku win Supporting Actress for Sinners, and Sean Penn take Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another. In the directing category, Paul Thomas Anderson won for One Battle After Another.
Other nominees included Yorgos Lanthimos for Bugonia, Chloé Zhao for Hamnet, Josh Safdie for Marty Supreme, Joachim Trier for Sentimental Value and Ryan Coogler for Sinners. The award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer went to My Father’s Shadow.
In screenplay categories, Sinners won Original Screenplay, competing against I Swear, Marty Supreme, The Secret Agent and Sentimental Value. Adapted Screenplay was awarded to One Battle After Another, ahead of The Ballad of Wallis Island, Bugonia, Hamnet and Pillion.
Sentimental Value won Film Not in the English Language, while Claire Binns received Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. Mr Nobody Against Putin won Documentary, with other nominees including 2000 Meters to Andriivka, Apocalypse in the Tropics, Cover-Up and The Perfect Neighbor. Robert Aramayo also received the EE Rising Star Award, voted for by the public.
Zootropolis 2 won Animated Film, beating Elio and Little Amélie. In the Children’s and Family Film category, Boong won over Arco, Lilo & Stitch and Zootropolis 2. Among technical awards, Sinners won Original Score for Ludwig Göransson, while I Swear won Casting.
One Battle After Another won Cinematography and Editing. Frankenstein secured multiple craft awards, including Costume Design, Production Design, and Make-up and Hair. The Sound category was won by F1, and Special Visual Effects went to Avatar: Fire and Ash.
In the short film categories, This Is Endometriosis won British Short Film, with Magid / Zafar, Nostalgie, Terence and Welcome Home Freckles also nominated. Two Black Boys in Paradise won British Short Animation, ahead of Cardboard and Solstice.
