US Congressman Suhas Subramanyam, a member of the House Oversight Committee, has made it his New Year’s resolution to release the Jeffrey Epstein files and identify those who enabled his crimes. He emphasised holding Ghislaine Maxwell and other enablers accountable, working closely with victims and relevant organizations once Congress reconvenes.
In a major development, a member of the US House Oversight Committee involved in releasing photos and documents from the Jeffrey Epstein estate has set a bold New Year’s resolution, reported TMZ. As per the report, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam plans to completely expose and hold accountable those who enabled Epstein’s criminal activities. The lawmaker aims to shine a light on the network behind the convicted paedophiles and ensure justice for their victims. Let’s find out who Suhas Subramanyam is and what he said.
Suhas Subramanyam was born in Houston, Texas, to parents from Bangalore and Chennai, India, and has a distinguished academic and political background. He earned a philosophy degree from Tulane University and a law degree with honours from Northwestern University.
Before joining Congress, he served in Virginia’s House of Delegates and State Senate, becoming the first Hindu elected to the state House, and worked as a White House technology policy adviser under the Obama administration. In 2024, he made history as the first Indian-American from Virginia and the East Coast elected to the US Congress.
Congressman vows to expose
According to TMZ, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, a Virginia Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, told the outlet that his New Year’s goal is to release the documents of the Epstein Files and will identify those who are involved. TMZ quoted him, “My New Year's resolution for the Epstein files is to get the files released, name names, and let the courts and the court of public opinion judge those who perpetrated, covered up, and enabled these crimes so that they never happen again.”
Not only this, but Subramanyam also singled out Ghislaine Maxwell, asserting that she must face justice for all her offences, including any newly uncovered wrongdoing, even while serving her 20-year sentence for sex trafficking and other federal convictions.
He says Maxwell "should absolutely be held accountable for all the crimes she committed, including newly discovered crimes." As per the report, Subramanyam says, in 2026, things linked to the case are going to pick up. He stated that the committee plans to work closely with victims and relevant organisations to take prompt action once Congress reconvenes next week.
