Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Ayodhya on Wednesday, where they participated in a series of religious rituals at prominent temples in the city. The visit drew attention from devotees and visitors, as the leaders offered prayers and took part in traditional ceremonies at multiple sites.
Rajnath Singh arrived in Ayodhya earlier in the day and was received at the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport by Yogi Adityanath. Following the arrival, both leaders proceeded to Hanuman Garhi, one of the most visited religious landmarks in Ayodhya, where they offered prayers to Lord Hanuman, also revered as Sankat Mochan Hanuman.
After the visit to Hanuman Garhi, the Chief Minister and the Defence Minister moved on to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex. There, they paid obeisance at the shrine of Shri Ram Lalla Temple and later offered prayers at the Ram Darbar. The leaders participated in aarti and circumambulated the temple premises, following the customary rituals performed by devotees.
According to officials present at the site, the visit was part of Rajnath Singh’s schedule to attend the Pratishtha Dwadashi programme. During the ceremonies, Vedic chants and devotional slogans filled the temple complex, creating a solemn and spiritual atmosphere. The leaders were also seen greeting devotees gathered at the premises, many of whom had come to witness the rituals.
As part of the religious proceedings, a ceremonial flag was hoisted atop the spire of the Maa Annapurna Temple. The event was marked by traditional prayers and symbolic rites conducted by priests. Devotees welcomed the leaders as they exited the temple complex, with chants echoing across the area.
The visit concluded with Yogi Adityanath acknowledging the gathered crowd and interacting briefly with children present at the site. The day’s events reflected Ayodhya’s continuing role as a major centre of religious activity, drawing attention from visitors, officials, and pilgrims alike.
