Deserts of India captures the raw beauty, chaos and charm of India’s most iconic desert landscapes. Two friends hit the road, chase unexpected stories and discover how much adventure hides in the heat, dust and silence of the dunes. It is fun, fast, real and full of moments that make you want to pack your bags and follow the trail.
India’s deserts have a strange kind of charm. They look quiet and peaceful from far away, almost like they are resting, but the moment you step onto the sand, they wake up and make sure every moment feels earned.

That is exactly the energy behind Deserts of India, the new travel campaign by Indiatimes. The series follows two young influencers who pack their bags, hop into a sturdy 4x4 and leave Delhi to explore three of the country’s most iconic deserts. The journey is fun, chaotic, cultural, scenic and full of surprises.

It’s a real test of stamina, curiosity and the kind of playful banter that only two friends on a long adventure can bring.

When Bikaner greeted us with havelis, heat and a whole lot of kachoris

The journey officially kicks off in Bikaner where the sand glows gold and the city glows even brighter. The dunes stretch endlessly till the horizon, and the enthusiasm of our duo stretches even further.

Bikaner becomes the perfect place with its blend of rugged desert trails and royal heritage. From dune-biking under a 40 degree sun to wandering through the 15th century Rampuria Havelis that could make even history influencers emotional, everything feels straight out of a travel film with a comedy twist.

The anchors dive into the narrow gullies where sandstone walls shine red in the morning sun, chat with locals who refuse to let anyone pass without chai, and pick up turbans in a way that deserves its own blooper reel.

Junagarh Fort stands tall not on a hill but on pure confidence, and its marble courtyards and mirror-rich halls give the first episode its cultural heart. Add a food stop at Chotu Motu Joshi with the inevitable “Oops, I spilt something” moment and you have pure Bikaneri chaos.

The episode ended with a dreamy golden hour at Lallgarh Palace, the kind of sunset that looks like it was created purely for Instagram. If Bikaner had to write a love letter, it would probably look like this episode.

When Jaisalmer turns the journey into golden dunes and full-on drama

From Bikaner the duo headed deeper into the Thar Desert, where Jaisalmer waits with its iconic dunes and its larger than life vibe. Sand stretches in soft waves, camels walk like they have seen the world end and restart, and the fort rises like a giant bowl of golden cornflakes.

The anchors experienced dune bashing, camel rides, local folk tunes and the unreal moment when the sun melts into the dunes like warm honey. They explore ancient lanes, discover stories tucked inside old walls and jump between adventure and culture like it is a natural workout.

Everything in Jaisalmer feels dreamy, dusty and dramatic. Basically, the perfect setting for episode two.

When Kutch shifts the mood with white salt, wild winds and dreamlike views

The final leg of the journey takes them to the Great Rann of Kutch where the desert suddenly changes character entirely. The gold disappears and turns into white. The salt flats reflect the sky till you cannot tell what is land and what is cloud. Every frame looks unreal, and every step comes with wind strong enough to steal your hat.

Kutch brings in the cultural explosion of Rann Utsav, local crafts that look like moving paintings and sunsets that turn the salt into a giant mirror. The duo interacts with local communities, explores vibrant markets and enjoys the strange calm that only a white desert can create.

If any landscape could whisper stories, it would be this one.

More than a travel campaign

Deserts of India is a mixture of heat, laughter, culture, adrenaline, long drives, unexpected discoveries and the kind of behind-the-scenes chaos that makes every moment feel real. In the middle of all this action, the anchors rely on the OPPO F31 Pro+ 5G as its steady camera and heat handling ability quietly supported every desert challenge without slowing them down.

The series balances rugged landscapes with soulful human moments, wild adventures with warm conversations and unfiltered travel energy with the heritage of India’s desert regions.

It is a love letter to India’s deserts and to everyone who knows that the best trips are never the easiest ones…
