The Duffer Brothers recently spoke with ScreenRant about Volume 2 of Stranger Things Season 5, reflecting on the series’ final chapter. During the interview, they addressed speculation surrounding a possible spin-off and unresolved aspects of the show’s universe, hinting that the franchise may continue beyond Hawkins. Matt Duffer noted that while the core mythology and character arcs are being conclusively wrapped up, any spin-off would feature a new story, a different setting, and an entirely fresh cast, standing apart as its own distinct project.

He was quoted as saying “We tried as much as possible to answer all the questions as it relates to the characters and mythology of Hawkins in the Upside Down. We’re really closing the door and all that.”



Stranger Things Season 5 serves as the concluding chapter of the Duffer Brothers’ hit Netflix series, picking up after the devastating events of Season 4. With Hawkins deeply scarred and the Upside Down encroaching on the real world, the story brings back its core characters as they brace for a final showdown with Vecna.
