Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major IT and digital hub. With nearly 400 STPI-registered units, global tech companies, and strong skill development initiatives, the state is driving innovation, employment, and technology-led economic growth.
Uttar Pradesh is rapidly establishing itself as one of India’s leading IT and digital hubs under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Proactive policies, strong governance, and a business-friendly environment are driving unprecedented growth in the state’s information technology sector, creating new opportunities for investment, innovation, and employment.
The Yogi Adityanath government has placed the IT and digital economy at the center of Uttar Pradesh’s development strategy. With a focus on e-governance, digital infrastructure, ease of doing business, and investor confidence, the state has successfully attracted technology companies from across India and abroad. Administrative stability and timely project execution have further strengthened the sector.
Under the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) scheme, nearly 400 IT companies are currently registered in Uttar Pradesh. These include startups, mid-sized enterprises, and global technology firms working in software development, IT-enabled services (ITES), cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital solutions. Industry experts estimate that the number of STPI-registered units will exceed 500 by 2026, significantly boosting IT exports from the state.
Noida and Greater Noida have emerged as Uttar Pradesh’s largest IT destinations, hosting data centers, fintech companies, and next-generation technology services. In addition, cities such as Kanpur and Varanasi are fast developing as emerging digital centers, ensuring balanced regional growth and expanding the state’s digital footprint beyond the NCR region.
Leading global companies such as Microsoft, TCS, HCL, Wipro, Infosys, Paytm, and Adobe have established large-scale operations in Uttar Pradesh. Around 90 Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are already functional, focusing on research, innovation, and high-end technical services. This global presence is giving local talent access to international work environments without leaving the state.
The rapid expansion of the IT sector has opened new employment avenues for Uttar Pradesh’s youth. Through government-led skill development programs, young professionals are being trained in emerging technologies such as AI, data analytics, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. This is strengthening workforce readiness and aligning youth potential with the goals of Digital India.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision aims to transform Uttar Pradesh into a digitally empowered state that contributes significantly to a Developed India (Viksit Bharat). With sustained growth in IT, startups, data centers, and innovation-driven services, Uttar Pradesh is scripting a new success story in technology-led economic development.
